We can now all have our say on the colossal East Park solar complex plan. The registration window is OPEN. Register now as an ‘Interested Party’ and submit your objections to the Planning Inspectorate. 🚨 DEADLINE TO OBJECT: 14 January 2026 🚨
5 December WE HAVE BEEN ALERTED TO ISSUES WITH THE PLANNING INSPECTORATE REGISTRATION PORTAL. If you experience any problems please set them out in a short email to eastparkenergyproject@planninginspectorate.gov.uk and cc contact@stopeastparkenergy.com. Thank you
- Register online with the Planning Inspectorate as an ‘Interested Party’ and set out your objections – the planning reference is EN010141. It is straightforward and should only take you a few minutes, especially if you’ve already drafted what you want to raise in your objections
- If you need help with registering or objecting, join one of the village helpdesks – get the details here
- If you need a reminder of the main issues with the solar site proposal, read the ‘Why stop East Park Energy’ page and look into how poorly solar power performs in the UK climate. Find out about the experience of a small rural community as it lived through a challenging two-year construction process for the first solar ‘NSIP’ in Kent. Look at a selection of key facts and figures about the East Park scheme here
- To make it easier, you may want to set out your objections in a Word document, phone note or similar before registering and objecting. That way, you can edit or add to your points and make sure you are happy with what you’re saying before you start the registration process. Once you’ve keyed in your details to register, you can then simply copy/paste your text in to the ‘Registration comments’
- The ‘Registration comments’ box looks very small, but, within reason, there is no word count limit. We recommend setting out your objections as bullet points or in a series of short sections so that the key issues you are concerned about stand out
- You will need to include ALL the issues you want to raise at this point
- While you may want to use online search and data tools to get details to support some of your points, please do not use AI to generate your response
- Note that you cannot change a submission once you have submitted it, but you are able to submit a further representation. You are only able to do this during the registration window (closing on 14 January 2026). The Planning Inspectorate recommends making it clear that any additional comments made via a second representation are linked to your first, and you will need to quote your Interested Party reference number
- You are also permitted to email a document to add to your original submission – again, only during the registration window. You’d need to email eastparkenergyproject@planninginspectorate.gov.uk, quoting ‘East Park Energy’, the planning reference, EN010141, and your Interested Party reference number
- In either case, the Planning Inspectorate’s case team should then match and merge your representations
- If you submitted concerns during the statutory consultation last year, check the final application to see whether Brockwell Storage and Solar has taken the issues you raised on board – if not, remember to point that out in your objections
- Look at examples of what people in other communities fighting massive solar NSIPs have said, from short submissions to more detailed objections setting out a series of issues – Fosse Green Energy and Great North Road Solar and Biodiversity Park
- Sign up for updates on the Planning Inspectorate portal. There will be opportunities to make further comments during the Examination stage – but only if you have registered as an Interested Party and set out your comments at the current Pre-Examination stage. You’ll find the ‘Get updates’ option in the ‘Project information’ section on the left hand of the East Park Energy page. This will help keep you in the loop on the project, but remember it is not the same as registering as an Interested Party
- Register on this website as a campaign supporter (if you haven’t already done so – if you get campaign emails, you’re signed up!). We will be keeping our hundreds of supporters up to date on critical actions and deadlines
- Spread the word with friends and neighbours and encourage them to register and object on the Planning Inspectorate portal. It’s important that as many people as possible submit their objections
